Update: Apache Stanbol Linked Heritage Demo

This blog is an update of the original Thesaurus management tool – Linked Heritage Project blog that demonstrates the use of Apache Stanbol to provide a thesaurus management tool in the Cultural Heritage field. As a reminder the European funded project Linked Heritage aims to provide culture heritage data and thesauri to Europeana. Ooffee participates in this project around the building of a thesauri import, management and mapping website. On the user side, the website has to be feature rich and easy to use, on the data side SKOS compatible.

Apache Stanbol Linked Heritage Demo

The demo website is available here : http://www.culture-terminology.org/

Mains part of the actual version are :

  • 1° Import : http://www.culture-terminology.org/import/
    • This form collects metadata about the thesaurus and :
      • transforms CSV file to skos compliant thesaurus
      • or process your rdf/xml file and import it in the system
      • or allows you to create a graph from scratch

  • 4° search : http://www.culture-terminology.org/search/
    • This part brings the search feature to the user. This search is across the website’s thesauri and also finds information in the wikipedia dataset. The user interface is currently in beta.
