Gnowsis, the company behind the Refinder product and technology suite, has recently joined the IKS Early Adopters Programme. This means that Gnowsis will actively contribute to the development and adoption of IKS’ project results; most notably, the Apache Stanbol toolkit.
In the course of this programme, Gnowsis will implement Apache Stanbol software components for the purpose of automated tagging of content items (files, documents, notes, Web pages, etc.) stored in the Refinder platform. The objective is to disburden the user from the load of manual tagging efforts on the one hand, and on the other hand to make search and retrieval operations more easy for the end user. As a reminder the European funded project Linked Heritage aims to provide culture heritage data and thesauri to Europeana. Ooffee participates in this project around the building of a thesauri import, management and mapping website.
